Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. Dreams of my mom’s homemade dressing (that’s stuffing in a pan, y’all) and whatever gourmet goodies my brother-in-law/professional chef decides to make are already swirling in my head and making my mouth water. As much as we all love these Turkey Day treats, they cause internal struggles within us. To gorge, or not to gorge? That is the question that tugs at our heart strings and our waist lines. Well, I am a non believer in trying to give Thanksgiving a complete health makeover, since I generally try to maintain good eating habits to be heart healthy and in tip-top shape, but I always believe in cutting corners and trimming the fat.
Congratulations Marlee M.! You’re the third weekly winner of our Treat Yourself Sweepstakes on Facebook!
The sixties truly were a Golden Age, not just for cinema but for beauty as well. Who can deny the smoldering sensuality of Liz Taylor’s Cleopatra cat eye? Or Sophia Loren’s exotic Old World allure? While both women commanded attention with strong, no-apologies looks, others wove their way into the cultural fabric through subtler means. Faye Dunaway comes to mind immediately. As the anti-heroine in Bonnie & Clyde, Dunaway was both jaded killer and jilted lover in the blink of one lilac-batted eye. For a look as award winning as her on-screen performance, we turn our sights to the multidimensional magic of vintage-inspired mauve shadows.

On Friday, November 5, 2010, Pür Minerals hit the streets of Atlanta to find out what real African American women expect from their makeup.
Yet another celebrity has recently melted-down and gone to rehab, but for once it was not due to drug use. Demi Lovato, the 18-year-old singer and star of Disney’s “Camp Rock” and “Sonny with a Chance,” cut her current tour with the Jonas Brothers short and admitted herself into a medical center for “emotional and physical issues.” Apparently, the girl was bullied a lot in grade school and has struggled with bulimia and self abuse for years. This makes me very sad.
