It seems as the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton draws near, enthusiasts are getting crazier and more creative. Papa John’s jumped on the royal wedding bandwagon last week, having a food artist in the UK create a portrait of the lovebirds out of pizza! “Royal Wedding fever is sweeping the world so we couldn’t resist having some fun and creating our very own pizza portrait of Kate and William to celebrate their forthcoming marriage,” said Andrew Varga, Papa John’s chief marketing officer.

Oscar’s Best and Worst Dressed

Monday, February 28, 2011 | COLUMNS: Around Town, Campaigns, current affairs, events, film, news

IStock_000000067375Medium Last night, Hollywood dazzled us yet again at the 83rd Academy Awards. And while the ceremony itself was as glamorous as any in recent history, the red carpet lead-up left us longing for more. This year, more stars chose to play it safe than to take wild wardrobe chances, much to our chagrin. Even the notoriously style impaired (i.e. Helen Bonham Carter) looked relatively tame by past award show standards. To be sure, the star-studded event did offer a few gems, but for those of us hoping for a runaway hit look or a fashion disaster, the view was pretty bleak.

In case you didn’t remember, yesterday was Groundhog Day. In Georgia, both of our furry foreseers, Gus and General Beauregard Lee, predicted an early spring, and I’m putting faith in them. Last weekend, we had a wonderful sneak peek at spring weather, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low to mid 60s. It was delightful, and now I’m anxiously awaiting the new season!

Shutterstock_3151462 Last night marked the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. And while the ceremony itself offered few surprises (The King’s Speech took Best Picture and Actor, Natalie Portman received Best Actress), the view from the red carpet left us both bewitched and bewildered. With award season in high gear, Hollywood’s brightest stars took center stage once more with bold statements that paid in spades and some that ended in fashion disaster. Here are our top picks for this year’s best and worst dressed.
