This Labor Day Weekend, Dragon*Con will once again grace the city of Atlanta. This is one of the biggest multi-media, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, comic, etc conventions in the country, and being a slightly nerdy, anime-watching, fantasy book-reading gamer girl, I am super excited. Like hundreds of con-goers, I plan to dress up. While people spend lots of time and money on extravagant and elaborate costumes, I’ve always thought an amazing costume is a complete waste without proper hair and makeup to match.

From body shape to facial feature design, there are many ways to show-off the latest fashions in a store. Mannequins are becoming more than just an human-shaped hanger, especially now that online shopping is at an all time high. There is more pressure on stores to create a customized environment that speaks to their target audiences.

Katy Perry looked smashing and Smurf-tastic at the New York movie premiere of “The Smurfs” on Sunday night. Perry combined her animated attitude and funky, fashion flair to create a literal display of the character she voiced for the film, Smurfette. This Smurf-Village girl was unforgettable in her white, mini dress with jeweled Smurfette on top. Her sun-kissed hair was so hot it’d melt your popsicle. Seriously, Perry’s new, golden locks definitely turned a few heads.

Actor and comedian Ken Jeong made us laugh out loud in The Hangover II and last season’s Community. Here, the funnyman and physician (Google it if you don’t believe us) shows his chops in a wickedly funny video on how to perform hands-only CPR to the beat of Stayin’ Alive.
