Goodbye Puffy Eyes
Wednesday, January 23, 2013 | Tips & How-Tos
Calming puffy eyes can be a challenge. Between allergies, late nights and the occasional tearjerker, it sometimes seems as if the battle never ends. Here are the best remedies to put puffiness in its place once and for all!
Stay Hydrated
Drink a large glass of water after a salty meal or a cocktail. Also try a glass of chamomile or green tea before bed.
Keep Elevated
Sleep with an extra pillow under your head. The slight elevation will help prevent fluid from settling under the skin around the eyes.
Start Soothing
If you wake up with puffy eyes, apply an eye gel with soothing ingredients, like aloe, oat protein and sodium hyaluronate.
Cool Down
Dampen two bags of caffeinated black tea and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Once chilled, place them over your eyes for 10 minutes. The caffeine and cold help constrict blood vessels and drain fluid.
