Whether from too many treatments, too much curling or too long without a cut, split ends are your hair’s frazzled cry for help. While a trim may be the only true solution, you can at least tame those wayward tresses before your next trip to the salon.
While it’s still wet, gently stroke your hair with a wide-tooth comb (for dry hair, use a soft bristle brush). Never tug or pull at hair as this can aggravate splits. Now would also be a good time to apply a good leave-in conditioner or an alcohol-free styling spritz.
While blow drying, try to brush ends as straight as possible to limit fly-aways. Once dry, apply a hydrating balm like Pür Balm to tips and work though to mend splits and control stray ends. Loaded with nourishing shea butter, vitamin E and essential oils, this quick fix balm provides the perfect dose of hair-taming hydration.
