Today, Pantone, fashion and design’s benchmark for color standards, revealed 2012’s color of the year: Tangerine Tango. Described as a “spirited reddish orange,” the vibrant shade predicts a wardrobe that’s warm, energetic and full of life. Bold but not over-the-top, Tangerine Tango is a boon for designers for its versatility. Working on hints of next year’s “it” color, many have already started incorporating the vivacious hue into their upcoming lines, including J. Crew and H&M (shown: short brocade dress, $49 at H&M). Many hope the uplifting shade will impart a sense of optimism in the year to come. At the very least, it’s sure to brighten up your look.
