Gloss, matte, shimmer and sheer—most lip colors, it seems, fall under one category or another. However, simply because the label on the tube says one thing, doesn’t mean you’re locked into a single texture or tone. Color is not a one-way street and a true connoisseur can appreciate the value of multiple dimensions—of layering texture upon texture to truly make your lips pop.
Few looks are more daring than frosted lips, and you’ll need a healthy dose of confidence to pull it off. To start, create a base using a lipstick with a good deal of shimmer, like Mineral Lip Tint in Island Pearl. To add more sparkle, pat on a little bit of Pür Radiance or the pearl tone from Pink Marble Powder. Lastly, “freeze” your frosted lips with a sheer pink lip gloss like Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Enchanted. Frosted lips should ideally look wet with flecks of colour suspended or “frozen” beneath the surface for a multidimensional look that’s equally delicate and dramatic.
